A lesson well learnt.

Someone has rightly said ‘the worst thing in life is not the bad things which we do, it’s the thousands of good things you do for the wrong person’. I recently came across this in face book. It is exactly the same thought wandering in my mind since few days. I am 26 yrs old, and I have been good to people all my life. I had just one enemy in my childhood, with whom even I came to equal grounds. I made many good friends, and I have numerous acquaintances where ever I go. It is easy for me to make friends because; I talk good to them and have patience to listen to them and understand their problems. I guess this is the biggest strength I carry towards people.  I let people to come closer to my inner circle if I talk with them in a harmonic note for some time. It’s not ever been hard for me to get close to someone. And once they are in my inner circle, it gives me immense pleasure to help my friends.  I don’t mind to the extent I have to go to help them. I feel that their onus is on me.

Overall, I made good friends, but there were also some people who were good actors and selfish. People who were good to me, but later turned out malicious. I think they were good charades, or it was my inability to understand their true nature. I did so many good things for them, liked them more than anything, and took care of them, gave them importance, freedom. At the end they just shut me out. Well there are many ways to shut a door, it can be either angrily or sadly or whatever. The end could have been more convincing. It has hurt me so badly because, I considered them to be very close and expected them to be with my lifelong. This is the worst thing which I had done and I would regret it for a long time. I am now afraid to let people closer to my inner circle. I don’t have the courage to face distress. People like them, have made me lose my faith on the people yet to come in my future. Well it was an important lesson in life!!

Life ahead

Life is a strange theory for me. At some moment it seems so very practical and the next minute so theoretical. It is the best example of chaos theory. My life is chaotic and I am responsible for my chaotic life. I watched the movie 'butterfly effect'  in 2005.Back then, it was just another pop corn sci fi movie. There were not many events which I wanted to change in my life. But now after 8 yrs, there have been so many events in my life, which I want to change and i understand the movie ''Butterfly effect''. There are things which I could not  avoid from happening and the consequence of them was bad..But I have traveled very far in time and I have come to a point, where I cannot do anything about my past. This may be because I realized late in my life. I wish I could change them. For sure, I don't want to change all the things that happened in my life, but surely few decisions, which I have regretted and are the main reasons for my doldrums. There were people who influenced and changed my life for good and bad too. Few people, I want them always in my life because they give me happiness. All of them are gone, and I miss them. I crave for them.

Now that I have traveled  in time and cannot retrace the path back do I have any option to make my coming  life better? Yes, i guess, according to me, as I still have a chance to lay the foundation for my better future path. If we compare mathematics with life, its full of possibilities and uncertainties  Anything can happen. Can we design an optimized path for the life ahead? I guess so. I can define my future path, joining many dots, smaller dots and bigger dots. The small dots are the small goals and the bigger dots are the major goals which I want to achieve and are my bigger dreams. I can take any path to jump from one dot to  the consecutive next dot. This path which I choose would  dependent on many parameters like the situation I am in, my approach to the problems, my hard work ,dedication and many unknown circumstances as future is completely . Well I cannot just put dots for a long future, the dots will change with time too and one the way, I will be planting future dots. I guess at the end, I would have some optimized path and at the end of my life, when I look back, I can say '' Life is beautiful''. I wish myself some luck.  Am I insane?

Give and Take

Found it in my spam but is worth reading and following.

When you value what you have, you make what you have more valuable. When you care about what you're doing, you make what you're doing much more effective.

Give the best of yourself to the moment, and the moment becomes filled with great treasure. Be generous to others with your time and attention, and you'll find yourself among delightful companions.

Life is largely what you give it. Offer yourself sincerely and abundantly, and that true abundance will be reflected in the world you experience. If you proffer complaints, you'll receive much to complain about. When you give love, there will be much to love.

Improve yourself, your actions, your outlook, and your world improves. Be genuinely useful, and you'll have much more with which to work.

What flows out from you surely, eventually and in greater measure flows back to you. Give your very best, and it comes back even better.

Quotes : Henry David Thoreau

Henry David Thoreau, has always been my source of inspiration. In my sad times, i always read his quotes, to get some inspiration, and a reason to proceed in my endeavors. Thoreau had said many things, but these  quotes have inspired me a lot than any. I have followed these sayings, and are close to my life. They have given me a reason to live and have a philosophical goal towards my life:

  • “I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
  • “Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.”
  • “Never look back unless you are planning to go that way.”
  • “If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away.”
  • “be yourself- not your idea of what you think somebody else's idea of yourself should be.”
  • “If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.”
  • “Nothing makes the earth seem so spacious as to have friends at a distance; they make the latitudes and longitudes.”
  • “Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake.”
  • “Not till we are completely lost or turned around... do we begin to find ourselves.”
  • “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined.”
  • “Things do not change; we change.”
  • “However mean your life is, meet it and live it.”
  • “One is not born into the world to do everything but to do something.”
  • “Dreams are the touchstones of our characters.”
  • “I have never found a companion that was so companionable as solitude.”
